Actualities :

Established in 2003 by the Essaouira Mogador Association in partnership with the Alizés Foundation, the Andalusia - Atlantic Festival is one of the key events in the city of Essaouira. The festival is held annually in autumn - after more than 10 successful years it has established itself as a fixture on the international music scene, bringing together national and international artists sharing the stage for these special concerts.

Celebrating art and highlighting the shared Arabo-Andalusian heritage, the festival unveils the melting pot of cultures and ethnicities in the city of the Alizés - many have contributed to the artistic wealth of Essaouira over time, amongst them Jewish Berbers, Gnaoua, Portuguese or Spanish Iberians, Muslims, Jews, or Christians.
The calendar of celebratory free concerts is open to all and held at the Dar Souiri headquarters of the Essaouira Mogador Association. Alongside renowned and internationally acclaimed artists, the Essaouira Mogador Association and the Alizés Foundation invite young artists every year to perpetuate the historic songs of formerly Jewish Morocco.

For this year, you gonna be happy to listen to Abderrahim Souiri and Raymonde el Bidaouia for exceptionnal concerts!
The festival is also unique opportunity to revisit the enormous cultural and artistic heritage of these two civilisations. Alongside the concerts, visitors can participate in seminars, discussions and workshops on subjects surrounding the wealth and diversity of the cultural melting pot. An unforgettable event in Essaouira’s calendar and the opportunity to discover exceptional moments to the sound of Arab-Andalusian music.
Think about booking at Heure Bleue Palais to not miss this event, from the 26th until the 29th of October 2017.
